Easter Activities for Our Four Legged Friends

Posted Mar 25, 2016 in Events

Happy Easter from all of us at Caine Country! We want to make sure all of our loving pet owners are including their dogs in this year’s celebration. It’s difficult to find things for your pup to do on Easter but don’t decide to leave them home alone just yet. Check out the list of activities for our four legged friends below!

Easter Egg Hunt

Ever played hide and seek with your pup? This is a similar concept. Most dogs have an instinct to hunt and they will gladly accept the challenge. Ask your family members and friends to bring along their tail-wagging companions and host a separate doggie Easter egg hunt. Replace candy with treats & tiny toys and put them inside plastic eggs. Hide them around the house or yard and release the hounds! Make sure someone is monitoring the hunt at all times because some dogs will get aggressive and territorial.

Photo Shoot

Find out if any local stores or malls are offering doggie photos with the Easter bunny. Before you go, take your dog for a walk or play fun games for a bit. This will get some of their energy out and they will hopefully stay calm and collected during the photo. If no one is offering Easter bunny photos near you then have a photo shoot at home. Grab some of your decorations and create a festive background. You could even dress up your dog but make sure that the costume doesn’t irritate them. No photo is worth forcing your loving pet into wearing something they don’t want too. Plus, they look cute even without the clothes.

Shopping Spree

Visit your local pet store and take your pup on a shopping spree. Splurge on something special for them to play around with this Easter. Click the links provided below to see some of the best toys for dogs!

Doggie Easter Basket

Surprise them with their very own Easter basket and fill it with toys, treats, & more! Find out if there are any local doggie bakeries near you and purchase some special occasion goodies. Get some ideas from the links provided below.

Homemade Treats

The aroma of delicious smells throughout the house will have your dogs mouth watering. Don’t forget to fill your pet’s dish with something delicious too. Make something healthy and tasty for your dog. Try out one of the recipes below!
