Canine Country is thrilled to welcome Emma Harris as our new Head Trainer. Emma brings with her a wealth of experience and a deep passion for dog training that has shaped her impressive career. As the founder of Fetch Happens, a renowned dog training company, Emma has dedicated her life to helping dogs and their owners build strong, positive relationships.
Emma's journey into dog training began from a place of personal experience. When she first started training her own dog, a sport and service dog prospect who faced significant challenges due to being under-socialized, fearful, and aggressive, Emma found herself overwhelmed by the complexities of professional training. However, her determination led her to immerse herself in the world of dog training, where she learned to build her dog's confidence from the ground up. This personal journey gave her a unique understanding of the struggles many dog owners face and fueled her desire to make professional training more accessible and less intimidating.
Even as a child, Emma’s love for animals was evident. At just ten years old, she could be found in her front yard, using leftovers from dinner to teach her rescue Sheltie mix a variety of tricks. She even created her own agility courses using lawn chairs and broomsticks. This early passion has only grown over the years, leading her to train her own dogs in various sports, including rally obedience, conformation, and protection sports.
Emma’s diverse experience includes teaching and training for service dog organizations, interning at a large-scale military working and police canine breeding kennel, and successfully titling her dogs in protection sports. Her extensive knowledge and hands-on experience have equipped her with the skills to help pet owners and their dogs live harmoniously together.
At Canine Country, Emma's mission is clear: to help your dog become the best they can be, without judgment, and with your unique lifestyle and goals in mind. We are excited to have her lead our training team and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our community.
