How to Choose a Great Dog Groomer

How to Choose a Great Dog Groomer

Posted Mar 29, 2021 in Tips

Does your dog need grooming every other month? Or does he just need a bath and nail trim that you can’t do at home? No matter how often your dog is in need of a wash, it’s important to feel comfortable when dropping your pup off with a professional.

Finding the Right Facility

Most of us know plenty of people with dogs as pets. Ask around to family and friends to see what groomers they use, even better if your dogs have the same needs. You can even ask your veterinarian for recommendations. Start making some phone calls to find out prices, hours, and to set up a visit. It’s important to visit the groomer with your dog so both you and your pet will feel comfortable. Check the recommended groomers out at Better Business Bureau as well for more detail on any complaints filed against each company.

Questions to Ask at the Facility – And Our Answers

Do you require all dogs be up-to-date on vaccinations? We require Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella.

Things to Look for at the Groomer

  • Adequate lighting
  • Clean and organized facility
  • Calm, not chaotic atmosphere
  • Dogs calm, not anxious
